The Romans invade Year 3

This week in History we got to meet a Roman Soldier (all be it via Google Meet). He told us all about the Roman Empire and how the Roman army helped this to happen. We got to see some of the weapons used in Roman times and found out about some of the fighting formations which made the army so successful.

We then used a bit of role play to explore further how the Roman Empire was created from a tiny town called Rome.

The children then completed some work on Roman soldiers, both in history and art
