Wow, what a day we have had! Today we had a visit from Queen Boudicca of the Iceni tribe who taught us all about Roman life and the invasion of Britain and the celts.

All the children looked fabulous in their costumes and got so much enjoyment and knowledge out of the day.

We began by looking at what soldiers would wear in battle so that we knew what we would be faced with in battle.

Then we reenacted the battle between the celts and romans whilst looking at how some of the Roman battle formations were tactical.

The children then went on an archaeological dig to explore some artefacts from this period of time. Some great enquiry skills being used year 3.

The children then learnt a bit about every day Roman life – the highlight being the poo sponge 🙂

Finally we played some roman board games.
