A few weeks ago, we celebrated World Book Day. The children visited the school library where they enjoyed reading books with their friends. We played charades in the classroom, where children had to act out and guess from our BOOKFLIX selection.

As part of this week’s Book Week, Year 6 used various texts to explore the theme of ‘Refugees’. Reception made a reading den in the outdoor area this afternoon. We chose our favourite stories to take outside with us, to read in our reading den. We all worked together and took it in turns to build our reading den.

This morning in Reception we have been reading the big books in groups. We love to read our big books together on the carpet, taking it in turns to turn the pages. We tried very hard to spot our digraphs, trigraphs and tricky words!
