This week we have been learning all about plant pollination and seed dispersal. The children took part in some role play activities where they hunted as bees for nectar. Once they found this they brushed against the pollen (in this case some crisps) and then took this to a new flower in search of more nectar. The children were able to see clearly how the crisp crumbs (pollen) were transported from one place to another.
We then learnt about how the new seeds were dispersed in order to germinate in new soil. We went outside to explore seed dispersal through wind and animals.
