We have had the most amazing morning at Neeli Mosque in Rochdale. We travelled on the bus…
Once we arrived at the mosque the extremely helpful volunteers gave us a tour and explained everything we needed to know about mosques. The children are loving their RE lessons, learning all about Islam and it was wonderful to see how confidently they answered the questions.
We spoke about all different religions, we related The Quran to The Bible and compared the mosque to a church.
We were shown how to wash our hands, face and feet and enjoyed trying on some traditional Muslim clothes…
Finally we were treated to a snack before heading back to school.
This trip was a well organised and educational trip, in the multicultural society that we live in today it is important to be aware and understand all different religions and beliefs. The children were polite, respectful and all staff were proud of their behaviour. The children all expressed how much of a wonderful time they had too! Thank you to Neeli Mosque and well done Year 2!
