Yesterday Year 2 had a fantastic day at Rochdale Fireground Museum, this trip consolidated our knowledge of The Great Fire of London and gave us an amazing insight to the life of a firefighter in the 1600’s compared to today! James and Bob were wonderful with the children, making us laugh and teaching us lots of important facts.
We loved using the hosepipes, we even had real water to shoot! The interactive fire engine was brilliant and we all enjoyed sliding down the pole like a real firefighter! After lunch we got to explore and dress up on a real fire engine!
We now know all about the hazards and safety regarding fire, we appreciate what firefighters do for us and we are Great Fire of London experts! Year 2 behaved wonderfully and Miss Forbes was extremely proud of them!
