In Year 5 this week we have been celebrating Reading Week! One activity we did was to create some art based on the picture book Jemmy Button by Alix Barzelay.
The book is about the true story of Jemmy Button, who was taken from his home by British explorers in the 1800s. It’s a fascinating story to explore and discuss and created interesting discussions around what is right and wrong for explorers to do.
Our art work was made using paint and drawings to recreate an image from the book!
This half term we are studying stone age art. In this lesson, we were exploring how to make our own stone age paint using things in the environment and spices.
This half term in art we have been learning all about mosaics. The children studied how the Romans made mosaics before planning and designing their own. We think they look fantastic. Well done Year Read more…
