For History this term we have been exploring Ancient Gre ce, to link this to DT we created a Greek Menu and tasted some of the different foods. We found lots of different foods that we liked and some that we disliked, take a look at how we got on.
The children have been working with clay this half term, practising different techniques and designing their own models. The final creations are amazing and the children worked so hard. Well done Year 2! The children are very excited to take their models home.
In Year 2 we have been working hard to design and make our own pouches. The children have practiced sewing using a running stitch, I have been very impressed! They worked independently and really enjoyed learning to sew and have made some lovely pouches.
This week we have had lots of fun in DT making our own puppets. We discussed the different vocabulary and worked very hard to design our own traditional tale character template. With help, we chose the stapling technique and we used all different materials and fabric to dress our characters. Read more…
In design and technology we have been learning about different mechanisms and understanding how things move. We designed and made our own moving monsters. The children worked independently and they were very creative.
