The School Council presented an assembly, talking all about Children In Need and explaining the reasons behind the charity. They spoke very clearly in front of all of the school. We ran a ‘Guess the Sweet’ competition which raised £90. Well done School Council.
Chester Zoo
We have had a wonderful day at Chester Zoo, the children loved seeing all the different animals and learning new facts. Everybody was so well behaved and made me very proud. Well done Year 1! We hope that you enjoy looking at our photographs.
Art Portraits in Year 1
The children have been learning about Andy Warhol and looking at his artwork. We have been drawing portraits with different drawing media and then painted our faces in the style of Pop Art.
Harvest

Portraits in Year 1
Today we have been using different media to draw self portraits. The children used pencils, pens, chalk and charcoal. They worked very hard and they were carefully looking at themselves in the mirror.
Fruit Tasting in Year 1
Today we had a food tasting activity, the children were developing their vocabulary and learning about nouns and adjectives. The children were also developing life skills of preparing food and understanding hygiene.
Our first week in Year 1
The children have settled in very well and have been having lots of fun whilst learning new things. The children have enjoyed the areas of provision and have worked hard to complete their challenges.

Kites in Year 2
We researched different types of kites and then the children worked in teams and designed their own. We then went outside to test our kites and the were all amazing!
Kenyan Jewellery
We have been learning all about Kenya and the children have made their own necklace in the style of traditional African jewellery.
Clay Animals
The children have been working with clay this half term, practising different techniques and designing their own models. The final creations are amazing and the children worked so hard. Well done Year 2! The children are very excited to take their models home.
Year 2 – Kenyan Weather
In Geography we have been learning about Kenya and thinking about the weather in Kenya. We created some pieces of art to demonstrate what the weather is like in Kenya.
Textiles in Year 2
In Year 2 we have been working hard to design and make our own pouches. The children have practiced sewing using a running stitch, I have been very impressed! They worked independently and really enjoyed learning to sew and have made some lovely pouches.
Easter Fun in Year 2
In English this week we created instructions for making Easter cakes. Today we followed the instructions and made yummy cakes! We had an afternoon of Easter games including an egg hunt and an egg and spoon race.
Making a Moving Monster
In design and technology we have been learning about different mechanisms and understanding how things move. We designed and made our own moving monsters. The children worked independently and they were very creative.
