This half term in science we are learning about forces. This week we have been looking at friction through a number of investigations.
Investigation one – The children used force metres to explore the friction between a range of surfaces and their shoe. They found out it was much easier to move the shoe across smooth surfaces as there was less friction.
Investigation two – The children used a toy car, ramps and different surfaces to explore how friction can slow down and eventually stop the car. They measured the distance the car travelled each time to draw their conclusions.
